Today I’m showing you around to Brera district, famous throughout the world, ideal for romantic minds, bohemian artists, design lovers but also for the curious ones who get lost before the glint of old and new windows and students attending the famous Academy. Via Brera and the surrounding area is a haven of creativity in Milan, a city more accustomed to using measure, order, punctuality and reasoning, compared to the genius and eccentricity.
Especially in the narrow streets, where you can lose yourself in a sort of maze, you can find the discreet luxury of the many shops and hiding countless treasures to discover. Going in the direction of Solferino street, a few steps from Via Brera, you find yourself in front of churches that are a trove of art treasures such as San Marco. Not far from here, in via Pontaccio 2 PopUpDesignGallery is hosting the Regenesi Temporary Concept Store. An innovative formula that is proposed as a temporary space and gallery dedicated to the world of design.
Who is Regenesi and what is their philosophy?
REGENESI, the first company dedicated to post-consumer design and fashion, was founded in 2008 by Maria Silvia Pazzi, CEO. I met Maria Silvia in the Concept Store in Pontaccio. First, I am struck by its radiance and creative energy while she explains about his products and his creations, worthy of the purest MADE IN ITALY.
Maria Silvia says: “We turn waste into beauty because there is no contradiction between being functional, eco-friendly and beautiful. We believe something beautiful and useful can be born from the consumer society and the waste “.
This is Regenesi, on the market since March 2009.
Regenesi create, manufactures and markets innovative design objects, with a high quality and made with post-consumer recycled materials. The idea is to promote a “sustainable beauty”, making it a true lifestyle.
It is a container of products of different types, ranging from the objects for the house up to fashion accessories. The common element is the use of innovative materials of post-consumer, up to now used only for the production of goods of common use or inserted in the non-visible parts of products. Not only are they used in a useful way, but also they become something beautiful, trendy, luxury. Aluminum, glass, plastic, leather, cardboard – treated with innovative processes that ensure the same standard of quality compared to virgin raw materials – become objects of desire. In this way the company responds to the desire of eco-sustainability, getting more and more widespread and shared in the contemporary world.
“Our goal , says Maria Silvia, is in fact to exploit the imprint of Italian design and quality, – at an audience of ” responsible consumers ” world – , leaving the sign in an area that the whole world envies us and which gives immense value : the Italian Life Style ”
The collections are created by internationally renowned designers including Matali Crasset , Marco Ferreri , Giulio Iacchetti , Setsu and Shinobu Ito, Denis Santachiara Kaisli Kiuru , which , interpreting unusual materials with a different style – have created objects that excite and free new energies.
Regenesi also gives space to young emerging designers, with both projects with the most prestigious design schools in Italy, and with the international community that is developing the corporate website.
There are currently active collaborations with the Turin Polytechnic and Venice University.
Products are sold online at www.regenesi.com and in a selected network of stores worldwide and at temporary showrooms set up during the most important international events dedicated to art and design.
Precisely for this reason I invite you to visit the Concept Store in Via Pontaccio 2, Milan. You will be speechless! Up to mid-April , fashion and design will be the protagonists of a format created specifically to expand the company’s presence on the Italian territory, which includes several lines of accessories such as bags, jewelry, small leather goods, office accessories and tableware, as well as lighting and furniture,
Just a few examples… of what you can find. Unique pieces to give as gifts or even more…to buy for themselves.
